About Your Safety
We want all our customers to have the time of their lives. Therefore please remember that your safety is our primary concern. A full safety announcement will be made after boarding. Also please take extra care, especially of children playing, whilst you are waiting by the river and during the cruise. Our crew is on hand to assist with boarding and for keeping you safe during the cruise. In addition we ask that when onboard you take note of any announcements and safety information displayed around the vessel.
We pride ourself on our safety record with the Maritime and Coastguard Agency who oversee the safety of the passenger boat industry. If you would like to see our safety certificates, insurance and risk assessments we would be happy to send them to you. Alternatively, most are displayed beside the bar on board The Georgian. Worth stopping to have a look at if you come for a viewing or a cruise.

I’ve been working on the River Thames since I was 16 years old and frankly it feels like it’s in my blood. I could not think of a better job. Love it, Live it, Breath it. I did leave the river when I went to work in Canary Wharf, The Ivy and the Waggon and Horses. But, I still missed the river, and when the chance came to own The Georgian it was a no brainer. Combining my two passions, food and the river, seemed like a perfect recipe for success. Making it work is no easy feat but thanks to my great family, friends and of course my wonderful wife I know we can make it fly.

When the sun is shining and I am out on the river, I could be anywhere in the world. Seeing people having fun and making their day’s memorable, is one of the most rewarding parts of being a passenger boat skipper. My passion is woodwork to which the boats keep me and my varnish brush busy with all year round. Not to say when the boats go out looking stunning I feel really proud to be a part of it. I cannot wait to welcome you aboard.

I came to help with the first VAT return in 2015 and I should have known then however boating has grown on me. Its hard to say that I like it – the late nights, the early starts, the mind bending conversations about the boating world but I do love being apart of something where everyone cares. Its not a job you turn up to and then go home. You live it. I even became a Pugh. Its about getting the details right. Listening to you and making sure we can deliver it.
Our Vessel
We are proud to operate M.V. The Georgian who was built by David Abels of Bristol in 1995. She has an overall length of 30.26 meters and a width of 5.1 meters which happens to be 33 cm less than the width of Boveney Lock. Watching the skipper enter Boveney lock is not to be missed if you come for a cruise. Every year she is inspected by the Maritime Coastguard agency who check that she is fit and healthy to continue navigating the Thames and making countless people happy.

This commitment also means that we promise to match prices with any other boat operators in either London, or the Upper Thames between Staines and Henley on Thames, based on a comparable service and experience. Comparable service conditions include, location, boat, catering, and other price offers within the quotation We do need you to supply via email, a copy of the quotation received from other boat operators so that we can implement our promise.
